Document Verification

Hi All :)

I have gathered all of my documents together, but now have to get the copies of these verified as true copies.
Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to who I might get to do this?
I had a quote from a local magistrate, but he wanted £10 per signature, and as I have loads of things to send, this will add up to a small fortune

I will pay this if I have to, but all suggestions very welcome.

Thanks very much.

Hi Lisa,
Think I read somewhere recently that a local JP can do this and they're not allowed to charge you.You can get a list of them from the local council I think.
Bushy.

Thanks.

Went to a solicitor and paid a £5 for declarations and a pound a piece for stamp to be placed on other documents.

These guys were in redditch, worcs

I'd suggest getting more than you think you'll need. I have to do the whole thing again now so I can apply for jobs! (teaching)

This was in reply to a thread I posted recently, but when I rang and checked they wanted £8 a signature. One of the replies I had was to ring around solictors as sum of them will do the lot for £15 apparently. Hav'nt had time to do this at the moment so don't know how true it is. C x :)

Hi. We went to the local Library and they gave us a list of JP's, in our surrounding area. I used 2 different ones and they both said they are not allowed to accept payment. That's in Scotland , don't think it will be any diferent. A nice box of choccies and some bevvy didnae go amiss.

Hi there,

Try and find a Justice of the peace. My mate's dad is a JP and he did all of my stuff for free, but from what he told me they can't charge you for this service.
Good luck with your paperwork, it's a pain to do !!!
