Doctors Notes?

Hi everyone,
I'm a bit confused as to whether i am allowed to carry over my doctors notes as i thought it would'nt be a problem, but apparentley they are property of the NHS and i don't have any rights to them, can anyone tell me different.
Please help as we are leaving in 2 months.
Thanks, Molesey.

As far as I know this is correct. Your are entitled to see your records but not take them away. You can request copies though, but I believe this is at a cost. The general consensus on this site sems to be that this is only worth the hassle if you have a significant medical issue that will need following up, otherwise don't bother!
If you have kids you will need their immunisation records though. I have seen someone say before that the red book isn't enough. :)

Your practise manager will make copies for you - we got charged £20 for 2 adults and 1 toddler. Its worth taking so your new local doctor has the history.

Our doctors printed a summery sheets for us & if we wanted full notes they would have charged us. Dentist photocopied notes for us with no charge

I would only bother getting copies if you have any pre-existing condtions. I got copies for all of us but I've only ever used mine (because I have a pre-existing condition).

I asked my GP for copies of my medical records and he said i will do you a letter instead to give to your new GP, which he has and didn't charge me.

[Hi, Our doctors receptionist updated our records on the computer, especially little fella's immunisation records, printed and charged us £10 for the 3 printouts, which were quite a few pages long.
