DOCTORS/DENTIST INFO
Hi All,
Could anyone tell me if we should take medical records from GP/Dentist? Our daughter has a condition called Noonan's Syndrome managed to get her records from the specialists. However the Dentist/GP said that we don't need to bother with there records, is this correct?
Thanks in advance

I would take the most recent notes with you,esp if she has loads from over the years, and i know they can pile up.The dr's/dentists will make their own assessments if need be and start another set of notes.Besides it cant hurt to give them something to read up on her past presentations, good luck

Will just take the specialist notes as they are probably the most important. Has had procedures done with the Dentist, but nothing too major. Thanks for the quick reply, something else I can tick of the list. Only 4 weeks to go!

If she has had medical and dental intervention because of the syndrome then yes, do try and get at least a report from both of them. If she also has learning difficulties and you envisage any sort of special ed support being necessary then also bring along any psych assessments she may have had in the past along with a test of adaptive behaviour plus her skill levels - if she doesnt have learning difficulties then, of course, ignore the above!

Thanks quoll,
She does have learning difficulties, and have all ed psych reports notes from special needs teacher, IEP and all her reports. She only gets 8 hours a week support so not alot. Not sure if we will qualify in Oz for any support, she was statement over here but only for emotional support. She has been bullied throughout her school life. Just pray that we are not jumping from the frying pan into the fire with her education. Are you a teacher in Oz?
