Have just had all parents docs signed by the mayor of our town, only problem is they only have the embossed stamp with the mayors signature but no statement say i certify this is a true likeness etc etc.......

Will these still be ok for visa app???

They may not accept anything signed by a mayor, unless the mayor is also a JP.

Solicitors, JPs and notaries are really the only safe options for certifying documents in the UK - anything else may be rejected.
