Apologies for asking such a silly question but........ do australian gameboy games work on UK gameboys? Having asked in many shops no one seems to know the answer.

From what I've read "the GBA is not region specific, and neither are the games. So you should be safe". Assuming you need info on the Gameboy Advance?

generally most things oz/uk uk/oz are compatable even oz region4 dvds work on my uk region2 dvd player but most games like xbox and playstation are PAL and so too are videos....if i am wrong hope someone can corerect my mistake

Hi J+J - I do not know the answer, but if you want to find out we have a load of Aus GBA games you could borrow to test with (if you can pry them from our boys).

Gameboy and Gameboy advance are global - the games work everywhere. Ive got an US gameboy which works with Aussie, Jap, UK, and US games - they guy when I bought it said they were global and so far they seem to be !.

PS2 from UK will play all PAL PS2 games - Aussie bought games work on PS2 from UK my unchipped, normal, PS2 plays Games bought here in Aussie. It wont play US games and might not play Japanese games on the box it will say PAL if it doesnt say PAL it wont play on a normal UK PS2

X-Box is the same, my UK Xbox plays Aussie and UK games, not sure about Japanese or US though havent bought any.

When I say these consoles are mine, I mean of course they're my 6 yr old son's ...ahem...

my kids have a uk gameboy & they have bought games in oz & they work
one also has a us one & that works too

OZ gamecube games work on a uk gamecube too

Thanks so much for all your replies.
We have heard from friends and family of buying games in USA that did not work on their Gameboy advance so just wanted confirmation that games in Oz worked.
