Looking at rentals at the moment and most appear to include a fridge freezer which is good as I'm not planning on shipping mine, but I'm thinking about whether or not to ship my dishwasher. What do people think, is it worth shipping a dishwasher or will it just be sat in a corner gathering dust. Does it depend on the price range, for example more expensive they include one but cheaper rentals they don't?

Our rental has both, but I thought it was more common to have a dishwasher included than a fridge freezer?

Must depend on the individual property, the only "whitegoods" we had in our first rental was the cooker ...

Came as a shock, after the holiday home we had that was all singing all dancing... And a big dent in the budget...

Ours had nothing. We had to buy everything--fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher.

Ours had a dishwasher but that was because it was built into the cabinetry. No fridge freezer.

Most rentals will not include a fridge freezer..

All will come with an oven. Disherwasher just depends, some will some wont, some wont have provision for one if its an older home.

We never had a fridge or dishwasher in the rentals we had, I would imagine more wouldn't than would to be honest.

About half of our rentals have a dishwasher - tends to be in larger more expensive rentals. Only furnished rentals have fridge freezers.
Having said that, don't regret leaving the fridge - deeply regred not bringing the dishwasher, white good v expensive here.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I may just bring it as most people think rentals won't have one, and since white goods are so expensive in Aus it's probably a sensible idea to bring it. Sounds like I'll be shopping for a fridge freezer though. What kind of price am I looking at for a fridge freezer?

unfurnished nothing except cooker and maybe dishwasher

If you go to buy look at the prices online and print off the price you can get, take it with you to the stores to bargain with

I would defiantly bring the dishwasher. The quality here is crap as well as the price. And no, my rental didn't have one.

Most rentals I've seen all had a dryer, but no washing machine which i always found fairly odd

We got neither. We bought a washing machine when we moved in but not the dryer as we thought we would just be hanging washing outside every time. How wrong was that assumption, we managed a couple of weeks without a dryer!
