Default Do I Tell them I'm Redundant???

Hi All,

I am getting made redundant at the end of July, I sent my Skilled Application into Adelaide on the 16 March, received acknowledgement in May. Do I inform then now or do I wait for change of circumstances form (presuming I get that far)

Cheers,

Good Question. Does becoming unemployed become a major change in status while the application is under process? What about after the sticker is obtained?

Jeremy, Allan any ideas??

Cheers

Going by what's written on the 47SK application form, the recent work experience for both the basic requirement as well as for the bonus points, is calculated from the date of application. (Unlike MODL points which are awarded at the time of assessment by DIMIA).

So, I would conclude that being unemployed will not have any effect on your recent work experience years, and as such, will not have an impact on your application once your application has been lodged. I may be wrong though.

I doubt it matters after your sticker's on your passport. Once it's approved, you can basically choose to go to Australia and just bum around, if you have the funds to support yourself.

Hi Thomas, Glenn,

Your circumstances are considered as at the time of the application. Apart from
births, deaths, ill health and character issues, nothing which happens later is
relevant. Some people just take an extended holiday during processing.
