A decent pint and the premiership adds doubt to perhaps the biggest move (in many senses of the word) of your life?

Hmmm? My guess is that you've never really wanted to go during the entire process?

read op other post about coming home before this one ...

Am I the only one who feels incredibly fustrated by this ... save those precious visas for those that are prepared to give their all.

My husband and I want our visa so much - we've jobs and homes sorted, school places for kids reserved. Have done so much research that on recent reccie trip locals were testing me on knowledge (LOL) and then some people just come for a few hours and give in!

I appreciate everyone deals with it differently but all I think anyone should do is try their hardest - 1 week is failure in my opinion - crikey 18 hrs of that was in the air!

Please don't use that failure word it is totally unfair and wrong. The guy has changed his mind about what is important for him. Whether you agree or not, he has definitely not failed. You can't fail at life.

Like the previous poster said, nobody's a failure if they don't like Australia.

I'm in the same boat as him, a Glaswegian with an Australian spouse who wanted to move back for a bit, & I didn't, having seen a great deal of Australia together on a previous 1 year working holiday.

Not naming anywhere, but like any other country Australia has good places and places that suck. Maybe he landed in a place that sucked.

p.s. Now that I'm back in Melbourne and settled in I'm having a ball.

Or a place just not suited for him/her.

We also love Melbourne but dont think its for everyone - like wise I love Brissie but couldnt see myself living there. But hope those interested in moving there do

Sorry guys but I'm a failure or success type of person - there's not many times when I hit the middle position. My point wasn't designed for a personal attack - I'm not like that either but let me put it like this if I'd got married and it had only lasted a week I don't think I could refer to it as a success, thereby I would have failed.

I view immigration a little like marriage - you need to work hard at it to make it successful and one week is just such a short amount of time!

I guess we are all different and thank god for that but I would say the marriage failed not you or the other half. That's just how I am

Hi Toryglen-Boy,
I would say dont go. I would imagine you wouldnt like it in Australia and might only last a week. Best of luck in your choice.

Well said moneypen.

He is not the only one on this board to have returned after a short space of time, although a week is very short - you still have jetlag!

People have their reasons for returning and perhaps hadnt thought about how they would feel or what they would do if certain things happened to them, like this poster.

Personally I believe to give somewhere a chance, you need considerably longer in order to cope with whatever gets thrown your way or whatever happens to you.

It is his choice. He hasn't killed a kitten, he hasn't broken the rules or any laws, he has just made a decision (hasty in my opinion) to come back to England.

The writing was on the wall in his earlier posts admittedly but then if you read back over other members posts, the writing is on the wall for many of them.

Loads of us are still waiting for our visas and dream for the opportunity to book our flights and go.

And only then, we can see for ourselves how hard or how easy it is to live a new life and the work that goes in to it.

Sorry but the other poster did not stop you getting your visa, never has never would. They made a mistake, you need to move on and concentrate on your own visa chances. Entire process is frustrating chill
