Do I need an aeriel/antenna
Hi really hope you can help me. The place where I am renting has an aerial built into the roof, and, I cannot get any reception for my TV at all. I am waiting for my t box and modem which should arrive by friday but was just wondering whether I will need an aerial or antenna installed on my roof to receive programs from this? I havnt ordered foxtel as yet as I just want to see whats available on the pig pond stuff. Could anyone tell me what channels I will get with a T box and without an aerial.
Many thanks in advance.

Your exact location may be a big factor in the answer.
However, if there is an aerial already there, one would assume it was working for the previous people. Ask the agents if it is working, maybe your TV isn't working ?

Cheers for that, its a new build and apparently the reception is very poor. Most seem to have an aerial, but they dont have the tbox. Ive tried to tune the tv in but nothing! It searches through all the channels but cna't find anything. The DVD on it works fine so im assuming that it is an aerial problem.

I hope this doesn't constitute as advertising (I have no connection ) but we use a company called Radio Specialists (google them) they're in Adelaide but ship everything, anywhere.
If you give Bruce your location he'll work out which services you should get, why you're not getting now etc.
We live in the back of whoop whoop so have aerials for everything and still using Austar so you can imagine you pleased I was when Bruce enabled us to get Bigpond!

Best to avoid broadcast TV altogether - its all crap.
Get yourself a nice high volume ISP account and source your entertainment needs from a global pool of high quality, advert free, run-to-YOUR-schedule, reception irrelevant content.
There are a few 500Gb plans out there now - so thats about 500 hours of High Def TV a month (~16 hours a day?) - Comfortably more than enough to keep you busy.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts. Decided to just go and get an aerial/antenna and now I have TV Apparently we were meant to have an antenna built into the roof but when the man checked it out we didnt so... Anyway, it was money well spent and iv got to say the man who installed the antenna was really nice and helpful. It is such a pleasure meeting new people who are friendly
