Will see what we can do! (It's about time Iceland stepped up to the plate again!) Being "stuck" here is fabulous.

If you have Australian Passport then down under is good having a permanent visa as state provides many incentives but otherwise stay away.

I'm going to offer an alternative view.
We love the UK but for us, at this moment in time, Australia suits us better.
We get out every single weekend here; to the beach, lake, bush reserves, friends bbq's etc.
We tried to get out most weekends the UK but it just wasn't possible on some weekends due to the weather. Yes, we could get warmly dressed, wear waterproofs etc but we just didn't feel like it.
Also, my job is slightly less stressful here.
I agree with KC Cherokee - most of us couldn't even contemplate a 90% pay cut so I'm assuming you're in a highly paid, stressful job.
As long as this paycut doesn't put you in a low earner category then I can't see why it would be a problem. Particularly if you have equity in a home.
Only you know how much money you will be earning here. If it's an average wage then you'll get by
