Do I book the flights or not?
OK here's the thing!
Front loaded our family sponsored application with medicals and police checks, uncle has had his interview at Centrelink and paid the bond two days ago, the guy at Centrelink said we should hear within 4 weeks.
Hubby desperate to get out there so we can have a holiday before the kids start school on 23rd Jan and just found cheap flights on New Years Eve, do I book them or not?
Can anything go wrong at this stage?????
Hubby on nights and wants me to book them before they go or the price goes up but our budget is really tight and we could lose £1,200!
Somebody help me make a decision?????????
Please

I know with singapore airlines if you need to delay ure flight after booking they are happy to offer you a later date.... no charge.... for changing the flight date..... but i dunno should the dates amended to fall in a diff price bracket ..... whether or not you will have to make up the difference.

I used to be a travel agent before being a nurse and usually u can amend the retunr but not the outgoing.
BUT speak with austravel or airline network (big firms lots of buying power and choice of airlines) etc things do change and if they may let you change the travel date, then as long as you get it in writing then go for it. BUT make sure you read the small print. I worked in travel for 6 years on longhaul specialist and we never changed outbound flight only in between or return, also it all depends on whether its scheduled or consolidated, or even charter.......
just get everything in writing..... salesmen or women may tell you what you want to hear!!!
good luck

oh
I think Bommie may be right Singapore are very flexible, not many are or were when i worked in travel, but again make sure you check carefully, down to the scheduled and consolidated thing

Singaspore Airlines are very flexible and let you change both legs of the journey. If the new flight falls into a different price bracket then you will have to pay the difference. But probably best booking direct with Singapore as the last time we booked with another company and tried to change flights they would not let us, until Singapore told them they had to as that is their policy.

Re: Do I book the flights or not?
Thank for all your replys! I'm not too worried about changing the flights and paying extra I'm more worried that we won't get the visa's and won't be able to go as they are one-way tickets!
What do you think the chances of us not getting the visa's are?
Health and police checks were OK, uncle's interview went OK and he has paid the bond, can anything go wrong now or are we home and dry? I don't like to count my chickens and all that!!
