Distance to the beach

Distance to the beach
Can anyone tell me how far suburbs like Gordon, Killara, Roseville, Pymble etc are from the beach please? Does anyone have any views on whether these suburbs and those surrounding like St Ives are good or bad?
We are a family of four looking for a better quality of life and I seeing spending time outdoors being a big part of this hence the question about distance from the beach.
many thanks

Pass them every day on the train to work, look ok from the window but couldn't say what they are like to live in. I would think they are good areas, but I would think they are quite a way from any beaches.

Non-peak/weekend summer St Ives to Mona Vale used to be about 15-20 mins with Palm Beach just over the half hour.
Summer travelling times? Take a cut lunch just in case!
