disposing of landfill (soil, rocks etc..)

Just wondering if anyone knows the cheapest way to get rid of landfill. We're having our garden cut out and levelled and there'll be a fair bit of mud and rocks left that we'll have to get rid of. The excavating companies are charging more to get rid of it than actually level the garden.

Are you serious? I actually thought about that but we live in a coul-de-sac (sp?) which is off another coul-de-sac so don't get passing traffic at all, but could label up surrounding streets like the neighbours do when they're having garage sales.

Sure im serious, put a sign on a cpl of posts on the main rd, and your address.

Its expensive to get rid of soil and fill, and its expensive to buy it !!

Thats what we have done in the past, and others too.

I often see signs for fill as I drive around, also people list it in the free ads.

Cut holes in your trouser pockets, stuff dirt into them and tie up the pockets with string. Walk down the street whistling and staring at the sky so not to draw attention to yourself and then untie the string, allowing the dirt to trickle to the ground down your leg as you walk along.;)
