Default Discretionary Assurance of Support

My other half and I are in the process of completing our Spouse Visa application.

Do we have to send in a completed Discretionary Assurance of Support Form? If it isn't necessary to do so, would it help if we did?

It is not essential and very few London AHC partner applications need an AOS.

BTW I stated that I would be bringing $14,000 and that we would live with the mother in law in Australia. No AOS was requested.
