Default Dirt/Trail Bikes

Hi

Does anyone know of prices or best places to get on/off roaders in Perth.
I will hopeully be looking to get 2 or 3 of them for me and my boys. Thinking of something like a DR400 or similar.
Also is there plenty of places to go without upsetting the law.

Cheers

Gazza

No one knows anything then. I thought off roading would be quite popular in WA.
Better think of something else to keep the kids positive about the move!

I can only speak for Queensland. Dirt bikes used to very popular in the late 70's early 80's. However you only tend to see them used now on private offroad courses set up as commercial operations. There are very few legal public tracks or areas where dirt bikes can be used without upsetting the locals or the police. Urban expansion and noise and environmental regulations have made it very difficult to just go bush. The same can be said of 4-wheeling. Try searching for "offroad parks" or something similar.

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread but kind of on a similar note - is the hiring of jet-ski's in QLD popular or do people tend to own their own ?. If people do own their own then does anyone have any idea roughly how much a sit down (2 person) bike is ?

I've taken my son a few times on holiday and ever since he's learned that we're migrating he's been driving me crazy with the "can we jet ski when we're living there ?" question !

I used to see them for hire a lot over at Bribie Island, but they disappeared after a while. I know people who own them and go out regularly. All I can say is be sure and check the areas near where you live as there are designated restricted zones. Qld Harbours and Marine should have details.
