Directions to Princess Margaret Hospital?
Hello,
Son has got an urgent appointment at Princess Margaret Hospital at start of April. (He has rare condition)
We live North of Perth so coming via highway.
How do we get to this hospital? Dont really know our way around Perth.
Anyone know if parking is ok at this hospital? e.g in UK the city hospital was a nightmare to find a parking space.

We usually park in the visitor car park off Thomas street and use the underpass. We usually get a spot but allow plenty of time in case you have to hunt around for somewhere.

To be on the safe side, allow yourself about 30mins to find a parking space. Families are very often late for appts due to parking problems. Staff also have major hassles and each day you will see dozens of them either having to move their car due to the time restrictions or driving around also looking for a space. It's a bloody nightmare.
Don't know what time your appt is, but try and make it either the first or last of the day. Theres usually spaces before 8.15 or after 3.30 either in the spaces or on the roads. Hope that helps.
Best of luck.

Or if it's during the day (not rush hour) and your physically able to take the train (good trip out for the kids - even my 14 yr old likes it).
Park at nearest train station on the Joondalup Line & get the train to Perth. Get off at the Underground Station, up the stairs/escalator/lift and take the William Street Exit not the Murray Street exit. Once your out of the station cross over Wellington Steet and go to the Yellow Cat Bus Stop (it should be yellow and it has a 14 on it).
The bus is free and you take it from the station right to Thomas Street (stop 17) PMH is over the road (use the lights). Coming back get on the bus at Stop 17 and get off when you get to the station.
You'll find a PDF for the Perth CAT routes here:
The CATS are busy during the normal commute times (on a morning I walk as I can beat the RED CAT from William Street to Emerald Terrace !) but during the day I find the RED CAT to be ok .
We've an appt there at the start of May for our son and we'll be using the train/cat route as parking in West Perth/Subi is a P.I.T.A. !

Re: Directions to Princess Margaret Hospital?
I'd reccomend getting there much earlier for your appt as the parking is pants! I ended up parking at a garage and could have got clamped!
I'd take filcomm's advice and take the train if you can

I always park outside the football ground, it's free and just a 10 minute walk.

Take the Mitchell south to Wellington Street exit. Turn right on Wellington to the end, which is Thomas Street. Left on Thomas to Hay St (first light). Turn right on Hay and the hospital is right there.

I work at King Eddie's and it's the same thing. The parking in the city is atrocious!
