Default dimia reckon 8 weeks backlog

Spoke to Dimia tonight, they reckon 8 weeks between receipt of visa at their office and getting an acknowledgement letter out. That was for me who sent ours on timeline at bottom of this ...

They've "been busy"... ;-)

Hi Spalen

So does that mean that your acknowledgement is on its way then ? Did they tell you how long after that it would be before you heard about the visa ? Our applications is about 4 weeks behind yours (also front loaded meds and pcc), so will be keen to hear how you are progressing.

Yes I think it does mean the letter is en-route, we front-loaded with meds and PCC's so we mihgt not hear for a bit, first letter would be to ask for the bond if nothing was wrong with the application. We do have a case number + case officer assigned according to DIMIA helpline hwich is good news indeed.

Busy hmmm? My skills assessment took 5 weeks longer than anyone elses when it was sent off in November. With everyone in Aus going on their holidays at this time of the year it must be why backlogs build up. I am trying not to think that the only reason processing times fell sharply 3rd quarter last year is that they were having a push before their hols and times will lengthen again.
