A desperate plea for assistance with RPL for ACS (or any other mean of residency)

Hello,

I am a sorry sod with no tertiary degree but heaps of experience. I've waded through DIMA website, ACS website and pestered many migration specialists... I've received lots of advise on filing my VISA application with DIMA, but very little, well ok NO information on how to file the RPL... the process is daunting to say the least. There isn't really any "form" to fill out, just a set of vague guidelines from ACS.

Has anyone on here filed an RPL with the ACS? Can anyone help provide a successful way of filing???

I'm a QA Engineer with .NET, VB, Oracle, SQL, Mercury, Rational (and more) experience, so HOPEFULLY my skills are still on the MODL and I'm not just aggravating the carpel tunnely syndrome in vain.

If, in fact, I AM pounding my head against a brick wall here, can anyone suggest other means for obtaining residency in Oz? (I've looked at endless sights, read books, even went to Sydney on a working holiday in hopes of finding a sponsor in person, and gotten nowhere). Looking for a miracle here!!!...someone who knows of IT firms willing to hire and sponsor non-residents, super-secret special visas that are hidden away for special occassions when really nice girls want to come to Australia, identity theft... ok, joking on the latter, but PLEASE HELP!!!!

Cheers,

Ona (email: [email protected])

P.S. Also a firefighter and paramedic. Any chance this would help me get in country?!?!?

Well, I would think that if you really want professional advice on how to file your RPL application, you'll need to part with the professional fees associated with such advice :-)

Quite a few people have successfully negotiated the RPL process.

George Lombard's firm's got experience in this area, and I'm sure if you were to contact him or Alan Collett's firm, you should get decent help, to say the least. Alan and George are practising registered agents who are also regulars on this forum.

If you're planning on doing it on your own, be prepared to do extensive research, not only for your ACS RPL application but also for your DIMIA application.

The MODL is here: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/modl.htm

Sorry to say that none of the skills you've listed above is on the present MODL.

I done RPL 2 month ago and it was successful, they approved my ASCO code which is software engineer and granted me the extra 5 points for C++ which worth nothing now.

First there are 2 applications that you need to fill, the regular ACS application like any other person + the RPL form.

RPL is basically selling yourself to the ACS.
The ACS give you guide lines on how to fill the application you need to read it carefully + the core which had all the subjects.

What I done is like that:
1) Get any recommendations from former jobs. The letter should include title, full time or part time job, what did you done in you job, networks elements and protocols which you used (include network devices).
2) Compile a good CV.
3) Write a document (mine was around 22 pages) that tell all you IT knowledge, what did you done and how you solved problems with things that you learned.

The document MUST include pictures of flow diagrams that how data flow from each components to the other and how you helped to create a better flow.
Remember the ACS want to see that you have sufficient amount of knowledge and you learned new staff in any work that you done.
If you have more questions contact me at [email protected].

I have a question to you, in the area of QA which is the amount of jobs that Australia have to offer to a QA person, in what it seems QA members are high appreciated in AU.
What do you say?
Did you searched for a job all ready?
