the dependant Aged...
Hi,
Wonder if anyone could help? We have been accepted in Oz, we've already flown to Perth and had out Resident stamps in our passports.
We now plan on leaving London on the 23rd Dec to start our new lives in Perth...
One problem I have is my Mum who is in Zimbabwe - she's in only 63 but not mobile and can't drive... my dad passed away at the beginning of this year, who she was totally dependant on. We don't really know what to do with her. Costs of groceries and medical bills are spiralling our of her reach in Zim and although it's still OK to send he money it's a short term solution...
She really would like to be with her family as most of her friends have fled Zim. I think the best bet would be to have her stay with us in Oz (in a self contained granny flat). Does anyone have ideas of how this could be possible?
She will NOT be dependant on the state as she will have 2 siblings in Oz, she also has a nice little pension in Cyprus to keep her going...
Ideas or views?
Thanks
Nico

Hello Nico.
I'm not sure that you'll get heaps of responses on this Forum to your question which is quite specialised (you are probably looking at the Aged Dependent Relative, or possibly the Remaining Relative visa in due course) and so it might be best to speak with my colleague John Sylvester in Southampton about your mother's options - the telephone number is on our website - or email him on john-at-gomatilda-dot-com.
Best regards.
