Default Dental rebate now on medicare

For teenagers 12 - 17, you will be able to claim back $150 for a dental exam and X rays once a year from medicare.

This might be helpful to those in other states.

In Qld its not that helpful, simply because the school dental van used to visit primary and high schools and do basic fillings, cleans etc. Now that will only be primary school. For high school kids it will be a voucher that only covers the cost of exam/clean/X rays, no fillings, so hardly a improvement, but depending on your system in other states it may help.

Qld is also finally adding flouride to its water.
