Thank goodness!!

Hopefully I can now save on the $1600 bill that was estimated for my pre-schoolers dental treatment (smashed teeth in the playground)

It Sounds good.

Herald Sun

PRE-SCHOOLERS will get free or cheap dental care from July 1 and thousands of newborns will receive free hearing tests from late this year

Children of health care card holders will pay nothing, while everyone else will receive heavily subsidised treatment.

The cost to parents without concessions is unknown, but it is hoped to be close to the cost of a similar dental program in schools -- $27 for a check-up and all treatment.

Children of health care card holders previously did get it free, but had to wait for space in the public dental hospital system. Lets hope this one will be better.

I believe so. I couldn't find any reference to such a scheme on the Commonwealth health dept. site.
