Finished work today

I have been counting down the days and thought I would feel great

BUT I feel wierd really emotional and mixed up.

After working flat out 10 hour days it seems strange to think thats it !!

going out with friends and colleagues tomorow so may feel better after that or may feel even worse

Tell me it gets better (please !)

Mary the one who will be getting up late tomorow morning !!!!

I believe congratulations are in order. This is a moment you have probably been looking forward to for months. It means you are on your way soon . I can understand your feeling deflated as you are leaving what is familiar, your job, friends etc.
Just celebrate and look forward to your future in Australia.

Hi Mary,
I'm wondering if that'll happen to me to be quite honest, as my last day is Friday. People keep asking if i'm having a leaving do, but I'm far too busy with getting the house ready to be packed (not the whole thing of course... would be nice, but a bit weird seeing a 120 year old house in Oz!...)

I think i'll probably just come home at 5, watch tv for a bit, eat, then carry on chucking stuff out and organising!

I'm sure it will get better though. My other half spent so much time at work while doing his PhD - he was never at home, always busy etc, and when he handed it in he just felt like hibernating because the change affected him like that. There was no relief or wanting to celebrate - just wanted to hide away. Of course he got better - it does take time to adjust again.

I'm just like myself this because i'm a bit too preoccupied.
