Definition of a Troll please?
Feel abit embarrassed asking, but who, or what, is a Troll please?
Is there any special troll terminology that we need to be aware of?
Cheers,
Nicky

Sometimes, they do give some really useful advice but it tends to get lost in the quagmire of negative statistics.
There is no language that will help. Asking them to go away doesn't work, neither does ignoring them or swearing at them.
Also as Polly says, they tend to travel under many passports, so initially it is difficult to spot one. You ask a harmless question and if it is troll mating season you will get a reply which gives an answer you are not expecting, written in a manner which will confuse. There will then begin, much to your astonishment, a long, lively, sometimes boring thread which bears no relation to your initial query.
It can liven up an otherwise slow day

Global Ignore works. I thought that was really funny when they did a global ignore on eatstatic. He kept on posting, but we could never read his posts.
Next time they do it, just don't mention it, it will really freak the troll out

Since being on here, they've been bolshie ones, annoying ones, rather funny ones and the down right sinister ones.
If everyone just ignored them when they post, they'll soon give it up. Mind you, that's easily said than done - especially when people are being verbally attacked (doesn't happen very often, thank goodness).
Usually just makes for a bit of a laugh!

Pity eatstatic/kong/dazuk or whatever hes calling himself this week seems to have escaped the global ignore blanket, I saw him post something a few days ago

Some can be fun. Every now and a again someone comes on and asks on the state of porno or the swinging scene in Oz.
