I've been looking at property on the net and the areas Rothwell and Kippa-Ring in or near (don't know?) Deception Bay seem REALLY cheap $320,000 - $350,000 for a new 5 bedroom!!!!! how come? Do any of you live near these areas or know why they're so cheap?

Hi,

Although I don't really know the area that well I do have friends that have lived in D bay for about 15 years. They seen to like it and it seemed like a nice place to me when i've been out to stay with them. Redcliffe is only down the road which has nice beaches etc. It's about 45mins away from the city and you have to go to the bext suburb for the train station.

I guess it comes down to what characterisics you are looking for in an area

Not as far as I could tell, it all seemed quite nice to me and I am possibly looking to moving to that area near to my friends when I get my visa.

I may have been walking round with my eyes closed for the entire time though

It's an area just taking off has been left behind for a long while but now with North Lakes etc. catching up slowly as lots of new estates being built and refurbs of properties along sea front at Redcliffe, Woody Point, Clontarf, Brighton and Shorncliffe. We rented there quite happily good starting off point but have moved slightly further inland and nearer Brisbane because that's where the house we wanted to buy was.

If your looking for a cheap place, then why not try Inala. Or maybe not.
