Default Decent Car to buy?

Moving to Townsville in April, can anyone tell me what a decent car would be to buy. We will have £5000-6000 to spend. We dont need a huge thing, but a newish car.

Thanks?

In Townsville, I'd go for a decent 2nd hand Landcruiser or something similar..........plenty of dirt tracks round those parts!

For that sort of money ($15,000AUD) and because you'll be buying in Townsville you'll be quite limited to whats on offer dealer wise.

Check out carsales.com.au and search using those perameters. There was only 2 pages that fitted in budget there.

Alternatively within that price range there are some brand new cars if size isnt important. Depreciation isnt as big as the UK and at least you'll have the new car warranty.

Go to see Bill at Parry Nissan/Suzuki at 515-593 Sturt Street heading towards the CBD. We bought a new Swift from him and it's a great economical car. There is a large used cars section next door. I'm fairly sure for your budget you'll find something newish. You could also try Tony Ireland Used Cars at 87 Charters Towers Road, Hermit Park. Both of these areas have several car dealerships so you should find what you're looking for.
