Debts

Would it be possible to transfer a personal loan to an australian bank account??? I know it doesn't look good, but I honestly don't think I will be in a position to pay it off in the near future. :curse:

I have cut up and paid off most of my credit card balance but am now anxious regarding a personal loan.

How much money would we need immediately upon arrival??? We only stand to make 25K upon sale of our house ( if we are lucky ), and I hope to use SOME of this to decrease the loan, but ideally want to take the rest with us to get set up.

Thanks. xxxx

keep the uk accoun open and pay enough in each month to cover expenses and the loan ammount that needs to be paid.

a relative will be able to keep an eye on it for you if you cant do it yourself.

Thanks for that!!!! And how nice to get a reply! Where are you in Sheffield? We are just down't road......

I am desperate to start our new life debt free... Keep looking at things in the house I can sell. Failing that, it's the town hall steps!!!!

We are going to the ozzie expo on 5th April, and I am sure we will get some answers to our dilemmas!

Thanks again. xx:thumbup:

The sad thing is how many of the things car booted were brought with the visa in the first place?
Certainly taught me a lesson :)

See if you can make an agreement to pay less each month, to make things easier when you are earning $, set yourself up with internet banking and an account with someone like www.tranzfers.com to move money regularly to the UK, and then pay it off from here. It takes time to clear the debt, but it can be done :)

I agree with the above. But don't let them scare you...they'll try saying that they won't accept lower payments but the fact is that as long as you are paying something then they will be happy.
