Post De Facto Application

Hi all.

Its great to see so many sharing their experiences and information on this site.

We are a couple who hope to move to Australia in 2005. We've been together for over 5 years and are currently living together in the UK. However we are unsure about a couple of things and want to know if there is anyone who could offer some advice/information.

I'm a Chef by trade and hope to apply under Skilled Independant. I assume I need to do the Trades Assessment before I apply?

Also:
Should my partner apply on my application form? He meets the pool mark for his occupation but not the pass mark?
or
Should he go on a WHV and then apply for partner migration when were out there?

Many thanks.

not sure about all the things you bring up but i think you should get advice from this forum and possibly an agent, could also be worth a trawl through the archives on this forum.

good luck.

As long as you and your partner have been living together for 1 year you can add him to your application as your de facto spouse. It wouldn't be necessary for him to pass the points test.

I would apply as You as the applicant, with your partner included on the application
