Daytrips any Ideas?
Hi everyone,
Wayne's mam is coming for 2 weeks and we were wondering if anyone has got any tips for day trips etc.
We want her to have a very memorable stay with us so any ideas will be very grateful.
Thanks everyone Mrs M. (Vanessa)

We've got obvious things planned like Oz zoo and Surfers Paradise, etc but we'd like to take my mother to somewhere outbacky if you know what I mean. The city with museums and stuff is interesting and everybody loves the beach but we want to take somewhere proper Australian - come to think of it, we'd like to go somewhere proper Australian too

Any ideas?
Maybe not a day-trip, though - it's 1100k from Brisbane.

You could go on a 4-wheel drive bus trip around the island, go sand-toboganning (my mother did, listen to them when they tell you not to put the board down until you've stopped, or you get a face full of sand ) and then you could watch the dolphin feeding before the trip back home. Or better still, stay there a few days and feed the dolphins yourself. You'd be able to go snorkelling then as well.

I'll file it for future reference though
