Default daylight

Hiya all,
doing some research on Brisbane, noticed that it starts getting dark around 19:00 in summer?
Am I right in saying that the winter days are longer?????

Outside the tropics winter days are always shorter, not longer.

It may get dark early but it is also light earlier in the morning, and I like that as I hate getting up in the dark.

And Brisbane summer daylight hours are shorter than UK summer daylight hours but as Amanda said, its gets lighter in the morning earlier (in both summer & winter) .

I wasn't clear on what the OP was comparing to so I though I would give both answers.

Oh and you get birds sqwauking aT 4:30 am in summer right outside your bedroom window.But its pitch dark at 7:30pm?
