Question Customs when you arrive

Hi,

Just wondered whether you get more scrutiny at customs if you arrive on a permanent visa, rather than just a temporary one. Not that I've got anything in particular to declare, but if there are certain things they are looking out for, i might pack these at the top of the case, rather than all over.

thanks,

Andy

As far as I remember, customs officials do not look at your passport. They are not interested in knowing who you are or why you are here. They just want to know what is in your bags and on your shoes.

At Melbourne Airport they X-Ray your bags on arrival in Australia ... a jolly good idea I reckon.

Best regards.
