Customs Checks?????????
Hi Guys
Just wondering about the Custom checks that are carried out when your belongings arrive in Oz. Do they check the contents of each box in your container? And what happens if they find something they don't like, are you in trouble or do they just confiscate it?
Just my mind doing overtiime again!!!!!

I watched Nothing to Declare on Living TV a few weeks ago, you should see some of the things they try to smuggle in
I don't know the extent of the checks, but if you get chance to watch the programme it's very good. One guy from the USA tried to get it with hardly any money, they just stuck him on the next plane back. His face was a picture, he tried to "offer" the officer a "good time" instead of him having to leave
Another programme they caught this guy driving a taxi without the required work visa and they put him in a detention centre until they could send him home. They charged him £100+ dollars a night
