any advice about exchanging pounds to dollars & the current exchange rate?
we are hoping to go in the next couple of months and I am not sure whether to keep the money here, or convert it straight away. i realise that 2.47 is better than it has been in the past, but an old thread put the rate at 2.9 and my imagination went mad!
thanks

This subject comes up every few days or so. There's no right or wrong answer. I know that I sent cash home to Oz at a 2.90 ish...about 6 or more years ago. It's not going to hit that rate again over the next few months.

You need to be clear about your tax postion in oz, relating to transferring money into oz - as the postion changed a couple of years ago.

If u are happy w/ 2.5 ish, then change now, or at least some of it.
