Re: Culture in Perth
My mate WAZZA (real name, but not really a real mate),thinks that he's cultured cos he sometimes drinks his E.B without a stubbie holder. He's got even more culture growing between his toes.He also thinks I'm refined as i own more than one pair of shoes without steel toe caps.

Don't know what kind of music you're into, but according to visiting musicians, the Perth Blues Club, held at the Charles Hotel every Tues. is the best venue of its kind in Australia.
The Hyde Park hotel hosts the Perth Jazz Club every Monday night, while Friday night at the Jazz Cellar in Scarborough Beach Road is great if you like trad. jazz.

The Charles Hotel is on Charles Street, further north than the SBR intersection. The music starts at 8pm, but go early, it's always packed.

That's North Perth then.
Thanks!
The Northbridge one is more on the outside of the central bit, a little bit west of the main bit with the restaurants etc. James or Francis st.

Re: Culture in Perth
well you've all (or most of you) rebuilt my faith in moving to Oz. Looks like we can have a bit more than just sunshine and the outdoor life when we get there. I've just got to find a decent job when we arrive so I can fund it!
Anyone want a decent Unix consultant arriving in August?

Basically, you can sit in King's Park on a summer evening, bring your own gourmet dinner from home, a few bottles of wine, a blanket and watch a movie under the stars.... Life doesn't get much better, especially if you bring a bunch of good friends along.
My tips: Buy a beanbag and bring a blanket..
