Crown
Atlast our furniture and wordly goods will be with us on the morning rush hour at our door step 9.30am, courtesy of Crown international shipping and removals
Let's hope for no breakages and that my O/H's brew kit is still intact
I just want my bed and sofa, god i miss a good stretch out and wriggle in comfortable things

It'll be just like Christmas
One of the kids hadn't understood what was happening so he was cock-a-hoop when all his toys turned up. When we said they were on a ship we should have explained that the ship would eventually get to where we were going.

Re: Crown
If you dont mind me asking how long have your belongings been in transit? How much stuff did you bring with you?
Hubby and I are trying to figure out how long before our flights we will want to send our stuff, bearing in mind we will be in a hotel (company funded) until we find a house to rent.

They say allow 12 to 16 weeks for door to door service. We sent ours out on the 31st of January, we flew out on the 14th of February - and it will be here in the morning. Thats door to door, packed and unpacked rubbish removed by Crown for £2775, for half a container full of all our rubbish
Another week and we would have been close to booking in at the local back clinics though

Re: Crown
Thanks for that Deb, how much space does half a container give you (cubic metreage if you know)? Is that a complete house of furniture that you have brought with you?
I am asking as we are getting shipping costs from my husbands work, who are sponsoring us and we are trying to get our heads around how much stuff we will want to bring with us, how much space our stuff will take up, and if we will need to increase the allowance at all.
Thanks in advance

Re: Crown
thanks for that, so 20 cubic metres should be sufficent for sofa, king size bed, corner unit and then all bits and bobs boxed up, plus our tv - its only a couple of months old

Using Crown too. Negotiated them down to being the cheapest (once AQIS fees are considered too) and found them to be very professional when quoting and their after quote contact.
Mines £2800 for half a container from Sunderland to Sydney.
Collecting on the 9th May and we land in Sydney on the 23rd. Hostel for a few weeks till flat found then will buy a few small bits and bobs and a sofa bed from Ikea till the stuff arrives.
