I actually didn't post it as a Melbourne vs Sydney thing, it was just a significant article which I thought should be posted for wannabe's consideration.

Personally, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but Sydney, especially not in Victoria.

Geez, those 4 guys from the Mardi Gras in the Jaguar T-shirts look like the real thing. Thanks Megs, that cheered up my day!

Teccie question? How do you put images in a post like Megs did? The usual thing is that an image comes up as a thumbnail rather than full size.

Sydney is a great City, especially compared to many around the globe. A night out around the Rocks/C Quay - bliss.
For those who enjoy "City Life", nothing better - if you have kids and want the suburb life maybe not the go.

We want the family burb life for Harry, but still are not ready to give up the city night life yet. Dans folks live near where we are planning to live, so baby sitters on tap (according to Dans brother). I loved perth, adelaide and melbourne when I visited, but cant imagine living anywhere but Sydey.

I live in Perth WA and moved here about 12 years ago from Sydney where I spent 9 years. I reguarly return to Sydney so I feel I can speak with some authority.
Sydney for my wife and myself was a fantastic vibrant place to live, when I return I am still taken in by the sights.
However I now have a young family and live in boring old Perth which is the most fantastic place for bringing up young kids.
From what I have seen of Brizzy that looks like a good compromise between the two.
As for me when the kids get older and look for work I can only hope the opportunities are here, that is the only problem I can see, apart from the feeling of isolation and the preoccupation in the media about arial ping pong.
I have been to Melbourne a few times and it's grey, as for Adelaide where's that???
