I was amused at an article in a newspaper I received - can't give you a link.

In Melbourne they had a big problem with over 100 bored teenagers gathering nightly at the Chapel Street car park and doing ''doughnuts' as well as a slow parade up Chapel Street and Commercial Road. The drinking and noise upset the residents so much the council came up with an ingenious solution which had been tried elsewhere.

They set up loudspeakers in the car park and they play mainly Dean Martin from 10.00 pm until 3.00 am nightly. Vivaldi's Four Seasons and some Frank Sinatra etc has been used as well. 'Some enchanted evening, you may meet a strangler', 'Stranglers in the night' etc.

Predictably most of the youngsters have moved on. It doesn't report on what the local residents think of 5 hours of crooning.

Apparently the same thing has been used successfully at railway stations and other places.

Wouldn't work with me, not that I hang around streets and do burnouts, just that my favourite singer is Dean Martin......yeah, sorry, it's my age.

If I get to Melbourne must go down there for a visit!
