Im a 28-year old Canadian and I'd like to move to northern australia, where it's 30 degrees every day. I can get a working holiday visa (1+1 year). Does anyone have any suggestions how do i make this transition work? |

Canadians are not allowed into Australia until they can say the word 'about' properly. Be warned, they test you at customs.

Re: crocodile dundee
What sort of suggestions are you looking for? Advice on weather, work, places to live, etc? I'm just not sure what you're looking for.
As for the weather it really isn't 30 degrees year round. Even in Brisbane this last week has been about 26 degrees during the day and it's not even winter yet. You'd be surprised how cold it can get in the houses here since there is no furnace or real insulation. Luckily in Brisbane it's really only got a few weeks were it gets really cold at night. Not Canadian cold mind you but cold enough to make me wish there was heat in the house! As for adjustments I don't think there's that much to adjust to. The countries are pretty similar, with mostly just small differences. |

If you're coming on a holiday visa then I'd probably say the east coast, or perhaps Melbourne. If you're looking for warmer weather all year round then probably Queensland. As for work check out this site. www.seek.com.au It'll give you an idea of what sorts of jobs are available in what areas. |
