Criminal Record - PLEASE HELP
 

Hi.
Could anyone on here help me please.

I'm about to start my application for emigration to Oz. 20 years ago I was a bit foolish and ended up with 2 court convictions for theft. I recieved a community service order which I completed.

My agent has told me that this will not stop me getting a visa as I did not go to jail, and the fact it was so long ago.

Is this correct???, or are they just after my money?

This is very embarrasing as you can imagine, and not something I am proud of. I have already sent for a police check which arrived this morning and it shows my convictions.

If anyone can confirm what he has said, could you please pm or email me if you dont want to post a reply on here.

Any comment appreciated as wife is frantic!

Bill, stop beating yourself up. Twas 20 years ago and water under the bridge now.

I've read other posters on here who had convictions of sorts and I believe unless you comit something like murder/manslaughter and have served time, then you will be OK, so your agent is right ;)

Might be worth you reading some previous posters under search [see top botton]. Maybe if you key WBB or convictions etc then something should come up to put your mind at rest.

I've now spoken to another agent who confirms it should be a major prob them so fingers crossed we have decided to still go for it.

The wife will kill me if it all goes pear shaped because of my youth, oHHHHH and the money!!!!! :scared:
