Default Credit cards and Temporary Residence

Has anyone on a Temporary Residence visa successfully applied for an Aus credit card? If so, which company did you use?

From the application forms I've read it seems you've got to be a Permanent Resident in order to apply.

Grateful for any advice.

When on Temp 457 - got a commonwealth credit card - but I needed all the id 100 points biz and a letter of reference from my employers!

Cheers Sandra

PS Can depend how much you put in the savings account!

Got one no problem with Commonwealth Bank. Filled in the form, showed them the ID and that was it.
