Default Credit Card usage in Oz

I am coming over for my reccie next week and wasn't intending on bringing much cash. Is plastic accepted everywhere?

Whenever I have been the USA, I just take plastic and minimal cash. Will the same approach be ok in Oz too?

Cheers in advance!

Gav

Same as US. Plastic is accepted nearly everywhere. I buy virtually everything on CC and rarely use cash/EFTPOS.

Too late for you to get a Nationwide CC? They don't charge the extra 2.75% the other cards do on foreign transactions - it soon adds up!

As other have said CC are common here. One thing to watch out for. When you give the card you may be asked "Cheque, Savings or Credit?". The answer is "Credit" not "Credit of course!". You can get multifunction cards here.

Been here 4 weeks now, seen rain, wind but mostly glorious sunny clear days, definately no snow - except on the mountains and if you go up there you will need your woolies!
