Where are you heading?

There's been talk in the past on here that social worker jobs are hard to come by(at least in Perth). Is that a bit the same as counselling?

If it is, do a search for posts by Jirrupin.

Good luck!

Most Positions within Mental health services require you to be a member of a core profession.Ie Psychologist,Nurse, social worker.occupational thereapist etc.
It is very difficult to find a role in 'Counselling' unless you are a member of one of the professions.
You may be able to set up in private practice but may have difficulty getting Indemnity insurance and may need to be a member of an accrediting body.
It is not so different to here in that respect.the problem is the Plethora of 'Counselling Courses'. some of which have little credibility.
