Don't get too excited just yet! Quite a few of us here in SE Qld are paying $2000-2500 a year for rates + water. It's still considerably less than what you're paying in Glasgow though. Where about in Glasgow do you live? You must be in a very posh area.

we paid $2400 for rates in Coalburn thank **** it was still in band A, the new owners went up to Band E which equates to $4000 :scared:

Robroyston but its not posh,its next to Bishopbriggs which thinks its a posh place!

I cant wait to be paying $2000+ for rates,at least it will mean we've actually got over there!Lol.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful - also didn't realise that you don't pay 'rates' if you're renting so that's good news.
Makes the price of rentals even better value - we've been looking online and thought they seemed pretty reasonable anyway.
Should leave us more money to enjoy the city lifestyle
