Default Could cry right now

We've had to wait the last 10 days to find out if our medicals could be traced,
and I found out this morning that they've not been traced and are classed as missing.
The company wanted us out there months ago so are none too happy.
I'm seriously hacked off to the point I could just sit and cry right now cause we were told they would go by courier after we repeatedly told them this was how they had to be sent, then they were sent by standard post. We nagged and nagged them that it had to go by courier I even left the god damn email there from our migration agent saying it MUST go by DHL or global Express and the address it had to be sent to.

I've now spoken to the dr's surgery we had them done by and they are trying to blame LCU in Sydney for losing them and said they were told they are probably lost in the back log.

I know it doesn't help to blame anyine but we blame the surgery as we said repeatedly and were adamant that our medicals HAD to go via courier and they failed to do so.
They've now said that they can send copies of the medical reports and the x-ray reports to LCU in Sydney but we will have to go and pay them the courier charge for doing it.
OK so we have to pay a courier charge to make sure it gets out there and can be traced but i'm hacked off cause this is what we asked for to be done in the first place and we were misinformed about the cost, personally I think the dr's should pay to have it sent via courier.

Then of course there's the other matter of the backlog at DIMIA - if we have to wait nearly 3 months for our case manager to get our medicals we will never get out to OZ before our police checks expire.

Oh Hell
how frustrating and very annoying!!

I can understand your anger with your Drs and also why you feel they should pay as they didn't bother in the first place, but to be honest I would pay now and argue later.

sending (((((Hugs )))) and good wishes for a speedy conclusion, I'm so sorry this is happening to you Babe.

But try and keep positive because it will be worth it.

Oh trust me i'm happy to pay up just to get them sent, but i'm pee'd off and we will argue once it has been sent off with the dr's.

I can't believe this is happening. My worst fear is we don't get tiem to book the flights to get out there before our police checks expire cause we literally can't afford to pay out to do it all again and we'll definately lose hubby's Aussie employer.

:curse:

Thanks hun, just feeling so frustrated, you have to rely on other people to do as you ask and when they don't it causes major delays and possibly screws things up.
I'd like to think we'd have the visa now if it wasn't for the stupid dr surgery

It is very hard relying on other people isn't it makes you want to scream at times , I will keep my fingers crossed that things get a move on for you, and you get your visa in time try to keep positive and tell yourself it will happen everything will be ok calm deep breath ....

now scream

That is really bad, i cannot believe they directly disobeyed your request. The medical centres are supposed to be specialist in doing medicals for migration and know the rules regarding PCCs and medicals better than most so they have no excuse. I would tell them that you are going to complain to the australian immigration authorities as they are clearly imcompetant and shouldn't be allowed to screw up peoples applications like that. I would contact DIMIA by phone and explain the situation, maybe even try and get a letter from the doctors explaining their cockup.. as for getting you to pay for the courier what a bloody cheek.. they may well ahve cost you a job by their imcompetance. Also name them on here so other people can avoid them

Best of luck with the process, i rememebr you were in the Jan list with us on the same ENS121 visa, ours came through in three months, i would phone the sponsoring employer and get them to phone DIMIA their end as well, it worked for us. If you have a case officer then phone him direct, we phoned ours and he was very nice and easy to talk to
.. really hope it all works out

It has probably gone surface mail by mistake. We just received a package from my mum dated late June that even though it had an airmail sticker on it and was requested to be sent airmail ended up going over land / sea. That is not the first time it has happened either. My daughter's birthday present from her uncle took 4 months after going surface mail.

Why don't you get your police checks done again now? They only cost £10 each after all. That might help.

Didn't realise we could do that??? Will ask migration agent if it's worth us having them done again they took a month to come back to us last time. Maybe hubby will decide to do it anyway. I'll get back from horse riding and he'll prob have the forms sitting here waiting for me to fill out lol

I've just done a Nigel Mansell and raced up to the other side of the city to pay the fee so that DHL could pick up the medicals today, I'm now waiting for a phone call to say it's been collected and to be given the tracking number. So it should be going today, hell knows when it will arrive there or even when it will be seen to.
2nd time lucky?

This is apparently all they're waiting for to finalise the visa, so i'm hoping once case manager has it in his hands it should be done quite quick.

Chrispy/ estherg had to stop visiting that thread cause it was all too depressing, think everyone on there had their visa's issued weeks/months ago, how are things going for you two?

Have to point out you all may feel earth quakes in about 2 hours as hubby has no idea that our migration agent emailed with the bad news or that i've had to rush up to pay for the copies to go courier today.

Maybe i'll leave the dr's number out so he can vent at them.

True to form while their mummies having a stress attack the kids are playing up beautifully for me

Anyway if you'd all be good enough to cross fingers toes thumbs and all extremities i'd be grateful

Thanks

To be honest I had other problems like Mother giving me a real hard time, house sold then not , then is. So I hope to be out in 2008 if all goes well and mum does not lock us all up in a cupboard . Good luck and let me know how things go! We had a few days that they thought the meds had been lost but they turned up, hang in there. esther

Good Luck Jen Jen, I'm sure when they get there they will be processed much quicker than 3 months.

Thanks everyone feel a little better for the rant, thanks for the sympathy and advice, wow BE keeps me sane well the small part of me that is.

Sorry to hear your mother is being a pain in the arse. Don't really know what to suggest there.
My mums moving 100 miles away in the next few weeks, was very out of the blue especially as only last year mum had been complaining she wans't seeing as much of the grandchildren as she'd like, personally think it's quite extreme just to get out of helping with the packing when things are eventually sorted out with Oz.

My dad is upset about it and so is my grandmother but then we do her shopping and help her out a few times a week, me and dad have always been really close though so it'll be tougcause i'h on both of us we don;'t really talk about it but if all goes ahead one day we'll have to. But he's always stood by even when i've done something he's not agreed with as it is my life he jsut picks up the pieces when it all all goes wrong

Thanks again
