Cost of renting on the Gold Coast
Can any one advise me on the average cost of renting a 3/4 bedroom place with a pool, on the Gold Coast?
Also is rental accomodation easy to find?
We have our first two weeks taken care of so far so would like to move into rental around the third week if possible?
Thanks for you help!

Re: Cost of renting on the Gold Coast
Rob,
It depends really on the area you want to rent in on the Gold Coast as the south Gold Coast is slightly cheaper than the North Gold Coast.
Prices on the north Goldie such as Hope Island,Runaway Bay,Monterey Keys,Sanctuary Cove and Oyster cove for example you will pay between $450 to $600 a week for a 4,bed with pool. If you want 4,bed,air,pool "and on water" in these areas you will be looking over $600 up to about $1,700 a week. You will be able to check out the prices on the following website: www.realestate.com.au
Hope that helps in someway!

Sorry Rob, did not see 3/4 bed? only thought you said 4 bed, so a bit cheaper, so is all good. Also there are very many rentals on the market as it is a very transient place plus alot of people own houses here for capitol gains and rent them out solidly for years.

Re: Cost of renting on the Gold Coast
You can rent from $250 pw if you don't mind living in a complex, we never wanted to but we thought that renting was a waste of money so for the short time that we want to rent it fitted in quite well. You can get luxury complex rentals that come with everything and cost more for it. You will need no matter where you rent references from people who know you and have a oz address. Who they will ring and ask questions about you, ie are you neat and tidy and do you pay your bills etc. Thats what happened to us. Getting a rental can be fairly easy and it helps if you know where you want to move to. Good luck.

Re: Cost of renting on the Gold Coast
You are coming at the right time. When we arrived, late november, we couldn't find a rental (worth looking at) for love nor money. Everyone from the south heads up to the GC for a few weeks over christmas and all decent rentals had gone. Part of the reason why we bought straight away.
I'd say you would be looking at the 400 mark for what you want in lots of suburbs. Depending on how long you intend to stay in rental. If just for six months you won't need air con. If you are planning on staying there for a year or more, make sure you get air con for when it gets hot again.
