Default Ielts

Hi all I have an overall score of 8 but got a 7 on listening. Do I go by the overall score for the eoi or the lowest ?

Many thanks

It'll be the lowest if it is for DIBP as they ask for a minimum score in each test.

The skills assessment is not worth 10 points - you need to enter trade qualification

Hi Jon, long time user though infrequent contributor. I'm helping out my friend who is in similar situation as you and asking whether you worked out what Old Sparkles meant re the skills assessment is not worth 10 points but need to enter trade qualification. Does it mean you get greater points i.e.more than 10 poiints for Plumbing Cert 3? Friend has similar points as you (5 less due to age). Any guidance would be appreciated to get them over the line of 60 points. Does it mean IELTS is still required?
So much more different than when we applied....
Thank you

yeh ielts is still required. when you do the eoi you have to put a certain qualification down to get the 10 points or it doesnt show up. the skills assessment isnt actual points its just proving you can do the job you say your doing. its the qualification that gets you the ten. hope this helps

The problem is the terminology.

old.sparkles is correct however I don't think OP meant "skills assessment."

I think he meant "recognised trade qualification" which would be worth 10 points and would be under the "education" heading.

The skills assessment would be positive or negative and is not worth any points but you need to upload your result, as if it is negative you can't be invited to apply.

OP was your trade qualification recognised by the assessor?
