Default Cost of living Perth WA

Hi all,
What would be an average income needed for family of 4 (2 adults + 3yr old and 3mth old) to get by comfortably in Perth. We are thinking of coming over but various amounts quoted on different websites for what my family would need to bring in each month.
Any replies or links to websites much appreciated.
Alistair

Depends on what is "comfortable" for you. Personally I would suggest a six figure salary is required but plenty get by ok on less.

quoting figures off possible employer it would be min of 68000 for me + penalties, allowances and overtime, maybe taking that up to 75000+. Then 9000 from my wifes pension. We might need 2 jobs, however i imagine that child care is pricey back in Oz.

Six figures, at least. Your kids are young, so cheaper right now. WA police just got a wage rise to around $68K for rookies and are the best paid in Australia. Renting is cheaper than buying by about 50% if you have a small house deposit.

There are a couple of threads in the Police forum - you might find contacts that way too

Read somewhere that cost of living for household expenses might be approx $2000-2500 monthly, with rent adding another $1600-2000. totalling $3600-$4500, do these appear about right?
Trying to see whether we would have enough to live on, on be better off stayig here (hopefully not).
