Default Cost of Living

My husband and I are thinking about making the move to Perth, however I wanted to suss out things a bit first as it is a big move!!!!

My husband is a newly qualified Music teacher and will be completing his NQT year in July is anyone able to advise me on what salary he can expect in the Perth Area?

Other questions:

1) How much is it to rent a 2/3 bed house?
2) Roughly as a guide how much are monthly bills?
3) what is an average weekly food shop?

I would really appreciate some guidance!!!!

Abbey

Hi Abbey and Welcome to BE

Check out realestate.com.au for housing costs, and try a test shop of what you like onlline at Coles or Woolworths.

This question does get asked a lot

http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=786377 is a recent one. You can use the search function to find other answers, but everyone is different just as they are everywhere. I could tell you food will be $200 week, and someone else will either halve it or double it.

As for teaching salaries - can't help I'm afraid. Good luck

Overall, COL is roughly the same with Australia slightly more expensive.
