Default Cost of Laying Porcelain Tiles

Can anyone let me know the cost to lay porcelain and ceramic floor tiles? There will be 75 sqm of porcelain floor tiles and 32 sqm of ceramic floor tiles.

Also if you are tiler on the Gold Coast I would like to meet with you!

Cheers

When we renovated our house, we were quoted $50-65/sqm for wall and floor. All our tiles are ceramic.

Cheers,
Mrs JTL

We are about 25 km South of the Gold Coast. Our guy charged us about $30 - 40 sqm depending upon pattern/layout/shape/tile etc incl. adhesive and grout. Did a truly marvelous job and have used him again since. let me know if you need his details.

That's about the same as we charge up here in Gympie for ceramic tiles, rectified porcelain would be close to double that price due to the additional time to strip off the protective coating & apply the sealer afterwards, also there's the added cost/time in levelling the floor prior to laying . Remember porcelain requires resealing every once in a while, it's an ongoing cost to factor in. The tile shop we use sells rectified porcelain for about $15 a m² by far their cheapest floor covering.

Our house build included tiling at $56 sq/m inc. The tiler was one of the best tradesmen on the job.
