Default Conveyancing times on houses

What is the norm. in regard to the time of saying yes to purchasing a property in Aus and actually being handed the keys?

In Qld a 30 day settlement is quite normal. It can be longer if that suits both parties. Shorter is possible but not common.

Cheers,

We saw our house on 7th December and moved in on the 19th It was only because previous owner had already bought elsewhere and we all wanted settlement before solicitors when on Christmas break. Quite impressed though

We had our offer accepted on 9th Dec, and are moving in (touch wood on 12th Jan). Given that naff all happened in two weeks over Xmas, this is not much more than a couple of proper business weeks. Our mortgage application was however 90% complete before our offer was accepted.
