Default Contents Insurance

Muppets that we are, we still haven't got round to sorting out contents insurance. That said, we didn't bring anything with us so not much need really!! However, Father Christmas has been and gone and we are starting to accumulate some goodies and probably need to think about insurance.

Can anyone recommend value for money insurers?

Oooh, me too - when we were away over xmas/NY I was a bit worried that we'd be screwed if anyone broke in and nicked all our stuff.
I am a total cheapskate though so I need the BEST VALUE insurance around! Let the recommendations commence!

We rent and so have only contents insurance, ours is $16.60 a month through ING. That covers about 20k, excess $250. Hope that helps.

Get a quote from AAMI. Ours was $12 a month ($120 annually) for $25k of cover with $300 excess when we were renting.

I'm with NRMA and they were pretty good when I recently had to claim for my washing machine carking it.
